When the Stakes Are High, the Creative Has to Be Right.
FifthHouse is a Nashville creative studio that specializes in brand identity, websites, and graphic design for companies that know the right creative opens doors, and earns trust once you’re in the room.

Good Creative Doesn’t Happen by Accident.
I’m Kashia (pronounced kaye-shah) Spalding, Creative Director and Founder of FifthHouse. When you hire FifthHouse, you work with the senior creative leading your project. I spent over a decade inside companies like HCA Healthcare, Ticketmaster, and Amedisys, doing work that carried stakeholder scrutiny, legal review, HIPAA compliance, and real budget consequences if it missed.
Those years taught me where creative goes wrong, and it’s almost never the talent. It’s in the first two weeks, before a creative is in the room. By the time a designer sees the brief, the decisions that matter are already made.
The Work
Brand systems, campaigns, and event identities built inside companies like HCA Healthcare, Ticketmaster, and Amedisys, plus the projects FifthHouse has taken since.
You’ve Outgrown the Brand You Started With.
- Your brand hasn’t caught up to the company you’ve become.
- Your website looks like it did the year you started.
- You’re past the DIY stage and tired of stitching it together from five freelancers.
Who We Work With
Companies ready for creative that matches the caliber of work they do. Strategy and execution in one place, with one point of contact.
What We Do
Six practices. Most projects use two or three, and we’ll tell you which.
Brand Identity Design
Logo systems, color, type, and the guidelines that keep it all holding together.
Website Design & Development
Sites that load fast, are accessible to everyone, and are built for search and answer engines.
Graphic Design & Marketing Materials
Campaign creative, collateral, and the day-to-day work that has to stay on brand.
Illustration & Custom Lettering
Original illustration and hand lettering, drawn rather than licensed.
Event Branding & Environmental Design
Identity, environmental graphics, and collateral for conferences and fundraisers.
Motion & Video Design
Brand animation, character work, and motion systems built from your identity.
Two Ways to Work Together
Project-based
Brand identity, website design, pitch decks, graphic design. Defined scope, clear timeline, a creative lead owning every deliverable.
Retainer
Ongoing creative for teams that need consistent output without a full-time hire. Monthly, senior-led, reserved capacity.
Most clients start with a project. Some stay on retainer. Both use the same four-step process.
The Person Pitching You Is the Person Doing the Work.
No Sales Layer
You’re talking to a creative who knows what it takes to pull the project off, what it takes to do it well, and where it can get complex.
Enterprise Experience, Without the Enterprise
Over a decade inside HCA Healthcare, Ticketmaster, and Amedisys. You get the standards those rooms demand and none of the layers.
Fast, Without the Chaos
A small studio means decisions get made in the meeting, not three days later. Anything affecting your timeline reaches you early enough to act on.
The Fifth Perspective
Brand strategy, creative direction, and honest takes on the industry, from someone who spent years inside large healthcare and entertainment brands and took notes.
Brand StrategyBrand Refresh vs. Full Rebrand: Which One Does Your Business Need? Not every brand needs to start from zero. Some just need a sharpened message, a refined palette, or an updated way of showing up.
Brand StrategyAccessibility Basics for Non-Technical Leaders: What Matters, What's Misunderstood, and Where to StartAccessibility conversations often get handed off to developers, and that's lazy leadership. You don't need to code to make sure your brand doesn't accidentally exclude people.
Creative ProcessAI vs. Human Creativity: Why Design Still Needs PeopleThe question stopped being whether designers would use AI. Almost all of them already do. The question now is what stays scarce when everyone has the same tools.
Fair Warning
Good work runs on mutual respect, so we’re selective about who we take on. We’re not right for everyone, and we’re fine with that. Life’s too short to work with jerks.
Your Brand Should Be Working As Hard As You Are.
