Brand Identity Design

Logo systems, color, type, and the guidelines that keep it all holding together.

You usually know something is off before you can name it. The logo works in one place and falls apart in another, nobody can find the right file, and every vendor produces a slightly different version of you.

A brand identity is the logo, color, typography, and the rules for using them, so an organization stays recognizable everywhere it shows up. Most people come to us asking for a logo, and the logo is the smallest part of what ships.

Discovery is where the decisions get made that nobody can see in the finished logo. We work out how small the mark has to hold up, whether it has to survive being printed one color by a vendor you do not control, and which audience it is built to reach. A hospital system and a five-person nonprofit both need an identity, and almost none of the same decisions.

Every identity ships with the system around it. Guidelines, file formats, minimum sizes, clear space, and the reversed and one-color versions that most projects forget until someone needs them at 4pm on a Friday.

If you already have a logo people recognize, that is not a problem. A refresh keeps the equity you have built and rebuilds the execution underneath it. A full rebrand starts from the positioning. Which one you need comes out of discovery, and we will tell you if you do not need the bigger one.

Identity work often runs straight into a website. If that is where this is heading, website design and development picks up from the same system.

Quick Answers

Is a logo the same thing as a brand identity?

No. A logo is one asset. A brand identity is the logo plus the color, typography, and rules that let everything else you produce look like it came from the same organization.

How much does a brand identity cost?

Every project is quoted individually after a short conversation, because a first identity for a new nonprofit and a rebrand across a national organization are not the same job. You get a written quote with fixed pricing, defined deliverables, and a delivery window, usually within a few days.

Can you work with our existing logo?

Often, yes. If the mark still carries recognition, a refresh keeps it and rebuilds the system underneath. If the positioning has changed, a full rebrand is the honest answer.

Do I get the source files?

You get everything you need to use and hand off the work: layered, editable files another designer or printer can open and work from, plus web and print formats and the guidelines document. The studio's internal working files stay with us, and nothing you receive depends on them.
